They say the whole planet is healing due to this lockdown and I couldn’t agree more. For the first time the AQI or the Air Quality Index is so low. I have personally never seen it come down to what it is these days. Especially for small towns like Jamshedpur where I live, it has come down to 20-40, which is huge! Otherwise generally it hovers around the 150 mark.
But my moment of realization came when I saw a Chestnut Tail Starling sitting on the window. I was zapped!!! I used to see them as a kid but having not seen them in ages, had completely forgotten about it. I was afraid that the bird might fly away any moment and that I should seize the moment. But luckily it provided me enough time to capture its beauty. I took several photographs and even a video or two. It looked remarkable just sitting there all by itself.
Thanks to this lockdown, I don’t think I would have otherwise appreciated or even noticed the bird. The lockdown has provided us with so much time that we are actually now seeing things that we were always present. Or probably the nature is truly healing and the animals and birds are taking back their rightful place on the planet. But for how long, I wonder sadly!
